Default MJL Finals

How's everyone feeling after regular season? We're pretty happy at this stage with a massive improvement after a disastrous 2011. Seven out of eight Div 1 teams will be involved in finals (up from 2 last season) and eleven out of sixteen teams all up (up from 4 )

A lot of hard work over the off season paid off.

A little disappointed with our finish, injuries really hampered the start of our season and then some brain fades at critical moments of games cost us.

Disappointing final game, after being decimated by private school holidays and playing with 6. Overall finished on the bottom of where I thought I should in 6th, thought we could of finished as high as 4th had a couple of "those games" gone our way.

My kids finished 6th with a 5-9 record. A couple of close losses would've had us in contention last weekend, but them's the breaks...you live, you learn.

As for the club, we've got 6 teams in semi-finals and we've got stuff that we're working on to try and capitalise on our strengths.

SD.

Comets would be feeling pretty pleased with themselves, dominating Div 1 & 2 (the only competitions that actually mean anything)

Big 8 rankings (in terms of GF teams)

Comets 9
Hills 5
Norths 5
Sharks 3
Hornsby 2
Penrith 2
Bankstown 1
Manly 1

Considering our lack of depth/numbers at local level to sit just behind the powerhouses isn't a bad result and certainly an improvement on last year. We'll keep working at it

If we are talking about depth, it might be worth noting that Norths had 2x Div2 girls teams in Div1 (U14s and U16s). In both of those divisions our Div3 teams made it to the Div2 Grand Finals.

Good luck everyone for the weekend. My girls play comets again!

They may have been your 2nd teams.....but they weren't "Div2" teams. You do have admirable depth there and both those teams were competitive in Div1

Div 1 Grand finalists

Sydney - 5 (4 Girls + U18 Boys)
Hills - 3 (U12, U14 & U16 Boys)
Norths - 2 (U12 & U14 Girls)
Sutherland - 2 (U18 Girls & U 16 Boys)
Penrith - 2 (U16 Girls & U 16 Boys)
Manly - 1 (U18 Boys)
Bankstown - 1 (U12 Boys)

Comets Womens program is clearly working well

Maybe my wording was misleading. By "div2 teams" I perhaps meant our "2nd teams".

But sounds like we agree anyway.

Phew... Big day for the Bears at Penrith. 7 out of 7 wins for the teams in the GFs.

2 out of 2 for the teams in Div1.
