Default 2017 Final Round - Tips

Not sure if anyone is still here haha But given this is such a huge round, lets all have a go at predicting this rounds winners.

Cairns v Adelaide
New Zealand v Melbourne
Perth v Sydney
Illawarra v Brisbane
Adelaide v Cairns
Melbourne v Perth

I think upsets could come in the form of Sydney beating Perth and Cairns could beat Adelaide twice. Only way I feel Perth wins in Melbourne is if Melbourne lose to NZ and causes Melbourne's season to end with other results before that Sunday game. Either way I don't think its possible for both Melbourne AND Perth to be playing for their season in that Sunday game so could favour the one who has their season to play for.

My picks:

Cairns v Adelaide
New Zealand v Melbourne
Perth v Sydney
Illawarra v Brisbane
Adelaide v Cairns
Melbourne v Perth

Home wins all the way mate.

2016/17 NBL Final Standing:

Adelaide 36ers 18-10
Illawarra Hawks 15-13
Cairns Taipans 14-14 (7-5)
New Zealand Breakers 14-14 (6-6, 3-1)

Perth Wildcats 14-14 (6-6, 1-3)
Melbourne United 14-14 (5-7)
Sydney Kings 13-15
Brisbane Bullets 10-18

Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, the Big 4 Cities all failed to make the playoffs. The Wildcats missed the playoffs for the first time in nearly 100 years.

Playoffs:

Semi-Finals

Adelaide 1-2 New Zealand

The Breakers once again became the giant killers of the competition after some inspirational performances from NZ veterans Mika Vukona & Kirk Penney.

Illawarra 0-2 Cairns

Captain Cameron Gliddon led the Snakes to an impressive 3-point shootout series win over the Hawks.

Grand Final

Cairns 2-1 New Zealand

Nathan Jawai, Far North Queensland's favourite son and the local hero, came up big in the GF with some unstoppable post moves to lead the mighty Taipans to an emotional series win and the club's first ever NBL championship title on their home court, triggering wild celebrations by Cairns supporters all across North Queensland.

Can you be a bit more specific with your predictions? hahaha

In your scenario, Perth would then go to Melbourne with Melbourne's season over. Wonder if that could play a part in Perth taking that one out?

Not yet mate, Melbourne United has 3-1 records over Cairns and Sydney. As long as they beat Perth in their last game, they should still have a chance to make the playoffs.

Well, most of that lot has gone out the window. Hopefully we can send off our mate Wortho with a Championship. Since we've won something like 6 out of our last 7 games, that's a distinct possibility.
