IMO Perth overall team has gone backwards from last season and is very prone to an injury to Knight, with so little support.

Teams like Cairns have improved their roster considerably, as has Adelaide.
NZ will still be a force this season.

With Cats playing their first 5 games away, they could be well behind the mark and have to finish the season with a bang.

First 5 weeks is really going to set up their season
Last season's team was a misrepresentation though. Adding a starting quality player at the expense of benching JT because we still had some guys on lower point contracts was a luxury. Remember that essentially before Nevill was signed we had swapped Weigh for Hire from the previous season's team.

I think that this season's team is on par with what was originally forseen for last season (only swapped Williamson for Bartlett).

Depending on how well Hire and Bartlett go it could be an upgrade on the previous year's team.

Martin/Robbins
Lisch/Williamson
Tovey/Weigh
Redhage/Wagstaff
Knight/Trueman

There is already improvement in Wagstaff and Bartlett is an upgrade on Williamson.

Cairns improved their roster considerably?

Trigger for Crosswhite is an upgrade offensively and a downgrade defensively.

Steindl and Gliddon in as rookies could be like Bose, Wagstaff and Coenraad or Cooper, Lewis and Allen. It is an unknown quantity.

Cairns is a strong team but they were strong last season as well; just crippled by injury.

Adelaide look a lot better on paper but how they manage DJ and Schenscher in the same team could be key and there are question marks over Clarke's coaching ability.

I agree that NZ will still be very strong next season.

Any word on who will get the DP roles at the Wildcats this season? Is Jervis from East Perth eligible?

I think not having Nevill in the team will actually see Knight be better than last season. If his body stays in one piece it will work out well as I feel sometimes when you share a role with a player who is of similar talent you can tend to relax to a degree knowing you are replaceable if you are having a bad game, feeling tired etc. Where as now he knows he has to bring his A game every time or the team will struggle. A positive there I feel.

Sometimes having too much depth can be a bad thing. You need those good role players on the bench who know their job is to come in and hustle and give 110% for 2-3 mins and then sit. Im hoping this will be the case when Knight sits and Trueman or whoever is in that role will come in and scrap for every loose ball and defend like their life depended on it.

If Bartlett can make two of DW's missed shots per game and throw in 1 or 2 steals and better D, there's a huge improvement right there. Not to mention Redhage with a full pre-season under his belt.

So do we - NBL and QBL. Radio, TV and print, 3 or 4 times a week - an advantage of being a community team.

Surely Jordan Wild will make the team for his name alone?

Hmm.. works ok for me.
I can right-click and "save target as..." or left click and watch it in the browser (although the latter takes a while as it waits for the whole file to download before starting)

I had to right click 'save as' and download it, to get it to work.

Saying that, it could have still been loading on the black screen and I was to impatient to wait. It is 20mb and took a little while on my adsl 1 speeds to download

We need to have a Wildcats Injury Tracker...

Code:
Player Name Injury Expected Return Date
=============================================================
Matty Knight Left Shoulder Aug 20
Brad Robbins Left Wrist November?

Just put 'Matty Knight' in the headings, 'type of injury' down the side, and a tick box under his name and tick according to which injury he has at the time, may be easier?
