I don't remember saying imports don't get paid. "Some would say that the side they have now is one of the most expensive going around in the SEABL" - nah you didn't say anything about how expensive Spectres SEABL teams was!!! "Macca and Todorov have been there long enough to qualify as locals now however" - nah you didn't say anything about some players being around long enough to qualify as locals!!! "Simpson is a non Specs person and his lack of Spectres history is clearly lacking. The current Spectres lineup, is nothing that anyone now repsects." - nah you didn't slag off the coach!!!! None of the people who have responded to your inane comments have claimed to know the exact figures, only you have. You are the one that needs to put up or shut up! If you are so much in the know - tell us how much do they get from their Association and how much do they pay their players? Also tell us how you know and also give us a comparison to other clubs so that we can substantiate your credibility.

Not getting into the fee's issue.
but I would say if a player has played three years of rep juniors with a club they could be considered a local. So that just about covers off most team s as having 5 or less locals in the ten man teams |

Knox with what looks like a huge comeback tonight in Bendigo! They looked gone on the stats halfway through the third! Did the Braves choke a bit?? 8 points in the last quarter?? Big game from Strong! That would've been a nice battle watch - Strong vs McFarlin...

Hey, leave me out of it. I've been out of the game for 4 years now so not quite up with the current arrangements.
Suffice to say that DFAT require players here on a sporting visa to receive a minimum living wage. This can be offset with vehicles, accommodation and so forth but there's also a minimum cash component. Curious is not too far wide of the mark for the annual wage but remember most of these guys are here for around 7 months so, drill the annual wage down by 12 months then multiply it out by 7 and your getting a little closer. Of course there are imports who's skills demand more $ but most of them wont be much above that minimum.

Interesting article here on the subject of Greer's and Corletto's unavailability.
http://www.theage.com.au/sport/baske...724-10pt9.html It makes no mention of Bathie or Lang who play for the Cobras. It also makes mention at the end of the article this. "A potential compromise, with the pair returned early for the second week of finals, has been withdrawn."

Very close game, within one point most of the time, two and a half minutes to go and JB got a tech foul for swearing. Guy Molloy lost it and walked onto the court abusing the ref, had to be held back by two ballarat players, ended up storming off the court and looked to me like he was trying to get the players to walk off with him and forfeit the game. Threw a sign onto the court as he stormed into the chage rooms.

Miners beat Chargers. South finals will be Nuna Vs Supercats and Sandy Vs Hobart. Now it's just a question of where will they be at ?

Did Ballarat really win in Hobart without Drake Reed??? My god, tough for Hobart to come to the mainland next week and win if that's the case?? Who has the head to head between Kilsyth and Bendigo??

bandits come from 20 down and beat knox by 6...massive clutch game from gabbidon, the usual contribution from bright and payne very quiet, but hittin a clutch 3 with a min to go!
good to see all the hard work at albury pay off this season and better the last 2 years records!!! hopefully the development process can go up another gear next year! |
