That would be a great signing for the Rangers, but I'd like to see her go to Canberra. She's a Canberra girl so it would be nice for the caps to sign a talented local. Especially now that Hurst is gone.

So what happens to all of the Dandy bench players playing in the SEABL? Will players like Probst, Terdich, Todhunter etc be in the WNBL next season with all these guns coming in?

Default shares in harbour bridge - cheap

yes I know its an old post , but i've only just got here myself

"not using money from the local competitions" LOL - got some shares in a new bridge over Sydney harbour for you observer.

riddle - what potential caps player from Vic , when asked at their job interview (for a full time administrative support position in ACT basketball for local competitions) what their computer skills were like in respect of handling the daily e-mails and excel spreadsheets - replied - "Hmm well, I might be able to turn one on but I've never actually used one"

hint, got the job instantly, moved up to the ACT and started for the caps for next 3 years.

Go do some research , Gaff was originally employed at least partly through a $15,000 grant from a local licensed club as a junior development officer for the local kids. result - new caps coach and no (free) junior development camps.

This is all ok, you have to rob Peter to pay Paul, and the caps profile has CERTAINLY kept ACT basketball in the local governments eye, maybe we will get a new stadium, out of it - but to be so wilfully ignorant of reality as to say there is absolutely no subsidisation - far too naive of you - it happens in every association owned senior rep team in every sport , and certainly in Basketball.

And I used to always enjoy watch the Dandenong teams , and would love to see them get a title, however much it cost ( meant in a nice way)

Is there anyone else? Why not buy the whole league.

Sounds like Melbourne Storm all over...

I also hear that Logan are in some trouble, so there may be some extra players available there.

Rumour has it Lauren King will be heading to Dandenong as well.

GO RANGERS!!!

Interesting, but can they retain all these players for the following season or will Dandenong have cut backs.

Look what happened to the Lightning Premiership team a few seasons ago - a dynasty of 1 year. A premiership for the new owner and a downhill slide since.

Thinking this is the reason why Dandenong were able to recruit and maybe why Adelaides dynasty was over quick

It's great to have a supportive sponser.
I don't mind renaming Dandenong "RYAN gers"

Is the Rangers lineup a walkup favourite for the 2010/2011 WNBL Championship, or is t more smoke & mirrors.

Guards: Macleod, Perera, Cumming, Todhunter, Foley
Forwards: Gahan, Downie, Probst, Terdich, Guest, Papavs
Centres: Bishop, Manou

Obviously, new coach, new team, new system it's going to take some time for chemistry to evolve into something solid. Is the above group mentally strong enough to handle Coach Wright's tough love approach? If they are, that's a scary team to be competing against each week.

I don't think Probst is on the team. Would be surprised if she is

Even if Dandenong signed another named player Bulleen would still be favourite! Dandy have to try pull chemistry together which Bulleen will have.
I second Probst won't be good enough for that team

Probst is still listed on the WNBL site, along with the new players. Could be wrong though, wouldn't be the first time. Will be interesting to see what/if anything she does then as she can be handy in the right system. She definately does have the talent to do well.

On talent alone the Rangers should content the top 4 but no doubt chemistry will be the factor on exactly how far this team will go. Bulleen definately start with the advantage of roster & coach consistency. Will be interesting once the season gets rolling.

Danw WNBL List of Dandenong 2010/2011 players

This is the link to WNBL site, showing 10 dandy players. No Hope or Faith.

http://www.wnbl.com.au/index.php?id=156

4 Amelia Todhunter

7 Lauren King

8 Stephanie Cumming

10 Abby Bishop

11 Chantella Perera

12 Alison Downie

21 Tracy Gahan

22 Ellie Manou

24 Jess Foley

44 Kathleen Macleod

Would there be an expanded squad or just the 10?

Dandy will have more than 10 players though.

I think they will have Hope, but no Faith

Have heard a rumour that a current member of the Seattle Storm is looking at joining the Rangers. She is not an Aussie but is a tall.
