Undefeated Bulleen have been playing great but Sydney seem to be getting better, I am tipping Sydney in an upset win. Should be another great game with another great match-up between Cambage & Bat Girl.

I'm disappointed at the court time potocki is getting this year. I know there are quality players there but with the numbers she posted last year i think she should be getting more time on court. Why is dombkins getting more time than her when we all know how she treated sydney last time?

Bulleen 8-0 but this team looks like its on the verge of loss #1 for the season. Sydney catching around +10.5 points look good value

I like the way you think, personally will be taking a little of the $5.70 for a straight up Sydney win as well as the +10.5 points start they're recieving

As I mentioned in the above post, I've been watching this Boomers team pretty closely and imo they're getting very close to their first defeat. Any team that's 8-0 starts to take a few short cuts in games, it's human nature. And Sydney should be primed to make their own statement today.

Depth and huge changes to line-up has resulted in her minutes getting lower. I don't think that Dombkins is necessarily the one that has eaten up her minutes in the sense that they are like for like in play. Sally has no outside game and pretty much bullocked her way in to a power position due to Sydney's lack of inside players last year. WIth Batgirl and Porter and the emergence of Manou, it has obviously impacted on her game time. Dombkins' game time is mainly due to her ability to keep the court spaced with her shooting range, giving Sydney a more dynamic inside-outside balance. Dombkins she has been one of the more consistent performers this season and if the past was going to be held against her in games this year, I don't think they would have signed her and given a second chance with or without the other half. I'm sure not all is forgotten as much as all would be forgiven.

Porter out for the second half with an injured (possibly broken) wrist. Batkovic didn't play the second half due to the refs fouling here out of the game. And Karen Dalton simply out coached Tom Maher to turn a 5 point half time margin (although it should have even, if Bulleen had used their brains) into 14 point win.

Dombkins plays more than Potocki because she actually has a perimeter game. Potocki still plays like a tweener and the Flames aren't lacking in frontline depth this season. Porter's injury may provide Potocki with some additional playing time.

Impressive win by the Flames. Difficult stretch of games coming up (Adelaide at home, Bendigo and Canberra on the road) - this is a good start to it.

Potocki = no outside game what so ever.

Potocki proved she could score points despite not having the best outside game last season.

She knows how to exploit miss matches and having her on the court causes some problems for teams trying to match up with the Flames. I know the Flames don't really need scorers this season, but as a Sydney junior, I don't think it's fair the way she's been treated. Especially not when another player walked out on the club.

It's not the best circumstances, but hopefully she'll see some court time now porter is injured.

Potocki is a great hussle player and provides good minutes as a spark off the bench, but to say and question that she is a better player than Dombkins is just laughable.
Dombkins didn't turn her back on the Flames she just went for the better deal at the time, and things just happened to pan out in her favour that there was another opportunity for her in the Flames line-up. BoardMonster I don't think you can just blame Dombkins return in Potocki's lack of court time, the Flames also added Smith, Porter and Batkovic-Brown which was always going to change the dynamics of this team with or without the inclusion of Dombkins.

So BM whatever this bee-in-your-bonnet for Dombkins is...just leave it cos you really sound the fool!!!

[QUOTE=JB;193437]Porter out for the second half with an injured (possibly broken) wrist. QUOTE]

Really tough game. Bad luck to Bulleen just couldn't get it going. Well done to Sydney - who were under-sized and battled to the end.
Could not believe my eyes when Porter broke her wrist. NOT ONE Sydney Flames team member or coach or the manager went to her aid. She was rolling around the baseline clearly in pain. Her sub, Batkovic threw a towel on her to sub her in. Both coaches and manager just stood at the other end.
Thank goodness for the Bulleen medical staff who came to her aid and took her into their changerooms. It took a couple more minutes for the manager then to make her way to the player.
SHAME SYDNEY!!! Don't have any compassion for your teammates. Where's the duty of care, coaches and managers????

The bulleen lady went to porter because sydney didnt have a medical person travelling with them. It was clear the team and their staff were very concerned, from the looks on their faces and their reactions. When u have an injury the last thing u want is 9 team mates and ur coaching staff surrounding you and getting in your space. The staff were very good with dombkins making sure she was ok throughout the game and spoke with her again as soon as the game was over to fill her in.

Oh no, I beg to differ there. Their reactions were stunned and that was it. Surely if someone from your team was injured you would at least go over to see if they were okay???? Wouldn't you???? Surely one person showing interest would be good. Who cares if they didn't have a medical person with them, she was clearly distressed.
That's great they looked after Dombkins but nobody went to Porter's aid straightaway!!

hey,

can anyone pls shed some light on what it is nat porter did to her right arm?! yikes! she's got a wrist-to-near-shoulder plaster cast on it!

bit perplexed that nothing was said or in the game program tonight!

also, i wasn't there in vic, but just musing... maybe they just thought/hoped it wasn't as serious as first though and like another poster mentioned, were just giving her space to be in painful agony..!
