This is about the 5th variation of the trade that I have seen, and Nate wasn't in the previous ones.
I hope he is played in Dallas more than he was in Toronto, when I saw Humphries got traded, I thought that would have opened more opportunities for Nate. The other PF's on the Mavs are Nowitzki (OMGGGZZZ!!!!!111 2 of my favourite players on the same team), Humphries and Nivins (unsigned draft pick). The backup PF spot is right there for him. Oh and another positive is we will get to see more of him on TV now.
What's everyone elses thoughts?

I thought the Raptors were keen on him pre draft, which is why i thought they would have liked to keep him.
TBH I think it would be more benficial for him to stay in toronto and when he does get time on the floor, run pick and roll with HEDO!!!!

Compared to having Jason Kidd as the point guard. I know who Id rather play with!!!

I think Jawai in DAL could be in a good fit, he might operate better in an up-tempo system but because Brandon Bass played backup PF last season, Jawai could potentially occupy that role, albeit with some extra height.

Kevin Love had surgery yesterday on a broken hand and will be out another 6-8 weeks. Al Jefferson missed training this morning due to an unknown problem with his achillies which saw him only play a few minutes before leaving the court in pain vs Bucks the other day. He will be out indefinitely.
Looks like he may get a bit of burn after all...

Good move! Could see him playing along side RUbio in the future!

Great news for Jawai. He will get to see some early season action at the very minimum.
As for playing alongside Rubio, that is yet to be seen as Rubio's stat line in Europe is nothing to write home about...so poor that I reckon my mum could do better.

Lot of PF's in that rotation, all of similar size too.
Rubio will be fine as long as he's not asked to score. He's playing with Navarro (ex-Grizz) over there, so my guess is he won't be seeing many shots.

Al Jeff's achillies apparently isn't as bad as originally reported. The reason for missing the last game has been updated to "Flu like symptoms"

Story basically saying that Jawai may well get some minutes, but that he's really just a project, and they're basically taking a free look at him as Dallas basically paid them to take him off their hands. Good news though, coz I'd say if Dallas couldnt get that to happen they just woulda cut him.
I'm pretty happy too, as I'm almost certainly gonna go to the Rockets @ Wolves game on November 18th so hopefully get to see Andersen and big Nate on the floor. Also seeing the Bucks play in Milwaukee on the 14th, so hopefully seeing all three big aussies play in the NBa within a few days.
I'm gonna be living in Vancouver for a few months too, so if Patty starts getting some sourt time will probably do a weekend trip down to Portland to watch him play.

Inactive for tonight's game. From Timberwolves coach Kurt Rambis:
The newest Timberwolf, center Nathan Jawai(notes), was inactive for the game. He was acquired in a trade from Dallas last week and Rambis said he could see action against Shaquille O’Neal(notes) and Cleveland on Friday.

Jefferson is back and playing, so I can't imagine in getting too much time in close games like they had today. Don't worry, he'll get plenty of time when both teams empty the benches and the Cavs win by 300 or so.

From today's Cairns Post -
http://www.cairns.com.au/article/2009/10/30/72781_local-sport-news.html
"Jawai did not suit up in the Wolves’ season opener yesterday – a thrilling 95-93 win against New Jersey – with coach Kurt Rambis deciding to put the Bamaga product on the inactive list given he only linked with the club a week ago.
But he said Jawai was likely to hit the floor against the Cavs to help the Wolves defend a "pretty large guy over there," a reference to O’Neal."
