The Tigers are having a family day to celebrate the season this Saturday.
Hang on, Game 5, if needed, is the night before :!: :?:
Oh right, it says at the bottom: Please note: if the Grand Final series goes to game five, the Tigers team will attend the event on their way home from Sydney
But really, what a stupid decision. I think a family day is a great way to celebrate the season (certainly much better than last year's club appearance  ), win or lose the championship, but surely they shouldn't have made it the morning after potentially the biggest game of the year. They could have held it on Sunday and probably even more people would turn up and it will give the players time to sleep/party after Friday night before turning up.
It's a difficult one. I imagine that after the last game the imports etc all fly off in different directions. Pretty much means it has to be this weekend.
Sunday would probaly be a worse option for logistics etc. Getting them as a team on the bus from the airport is probably the best option should it be required.

Tigers event days have always been ill-timed and poorly planned.

Being an outdoors event I'd just like to remind everyone attending to slap! on a shirt, slap! on some sunscreen and slap! on a hat to protect yourselves from the prodigal sun.

This event is proudly brought to you by ACN. Official Sword handle sponsor of the Melbourne "Booze Less, Get Slapped" Tigers.

They were going to slap some meat and frannyfurters on the bbq, but the esky in the back of McPeake's Fairmont went AWOL.

Not to worry mate, we'll be taking care of business tonight. Maybe Goorj can stick around for it and invite Cowan down to initiate the scouting process.

If the Tigers win, the fans will be in for a special treat. All players will gather on the stage, the big guys will get down on their hands and knees in a line, the middle-sized guys will climb on their backs, and then the guards will climb on top. It will be the biggest attempt at a pyramid scheme since ACN.

I've been at the SCG to welcome home the Swans the day after a grand final loss and the day after a grand final win. The boys weren't in too good shape on either day.

The Kings are having Fan Day on Sunday, win or lose. Somewhat more practical, really.

We've had to book early flights back (the most expensive for the day) to get back in time for this. It wasn't very good timing at all. It's in a public park, so it's not like it was a scheduling issue! Not expecting many to turn up either, as in true Tigers fashion (as mentioned by DoubleA), it has had very little publicity.

We booked flights to get back from Melbourne for the Swans thing and had the same problem, it was rather expensive... although at least in their defence the Grand Final was on a Saturday so they had to hold it on a Sunday, and too much later on the Sunday and the guys would really be just a little tipsy.

I agree that Saturday is bad timing. I have a meeting near Frankston to attend, so I can't make it. Sunday or Sunday week would have been much better.
Because of the hasty arrangements, it will be poorly attended. This must make it harder for the players, who should be the center of attention.
Nice day out today at the Club function.
Lots of people and some media turned up. Good interview with all the players and a really good vibe all around on a pleasant sunny day.
Ansteys lip looks a mess with 3 stitches in it. Certainly copped a good hit.
Players were certainly accommodating of the fans.
I saw a decent story on Sports Tonight this evening about last night's win, and some footage of the Fan day today. When Westover was interviewed he spoke enthusiastically about the crowd last night and the popularity of the game across both Australian cities and New Zealand.
D-Mac was then interviewed, and talked about the importance of marketing in the league, and how he would like to be involved in it now that he is retiring from the court.

Westover after a few beers is the funniest/most accomodating person in sports Ive ever met.

Absolutely! He was hilarious last night at the hotel bar, and is just a great guy to talk to. He was already talking about next season - I told him to enjoy the moment before worrying about next season just yet! DT, Tommy & Vince (one of our assistants) were also very funny last night after a few drinks, in particular when we were trying to find another place to go to at 5am!
On the Family Day, it was a decent turn out and the players were fantastic given the big night everyone had. Most of the guys didn't get any sleep last night (myself included :D ), so it was a big effort for them to front up on such short notice and be very accommodating to the fans that did show up today. I was lucky enough to fly back with them this morning, and there were some very seedy looking guys on that plane!

Franny didn't show up at the family day because there wasn't anything about the family day on the evening news, in case someone was looking for headlines on some "person" being hauled off in a straightjacket!!!

Did franny turn up to the family day?
Didn't see him, but wasn't exactly looking out for him either.

.... Now .... how crap would this be!!
Your team wins the title .... yet you are less welcome than a member of the opposition fanbase. This is MUST show to franny what a tool he has been.
He also gives this ACN mob he is a part of a bad name as well as Tigers fans who want nothing to do with him.
